New photos on Flickr

Shane and I just wanted to let everyone know that we have just put up a lot of new photos of Abigael on our Flickr page.

You can see all of the photos from the posts and many others in the September folder.

Happy Viewing!

Another trip to the park

The weather here in San Antonio has finally taken a dive, much to my relief! It was actually only 78 degrees today...quite chilly for Texas natives ;) So Abigael and I decided to take advantage of the "cool" air and walked down to our little neighborhood park.

Abigael looked like a little kindergartner with her jeans a sneakers on. I must stop dressing her like that because then she is just growing up too fast!

She did have lots of fun though wandering around the area picking up the mulch and climbing on what she could reach. We did some swinging but I don't think she is as impressed with the swinging anymore. She'd much rather be walking, running, falling...anything where she has some freedom!

Bronco Game!!

This past Sunday was of course a Football Sunday! That means I get to watch all the football I could possibly want in one day :) Shane was still working, so he only got to hear my shouts and boos from upstairs...lucky him!

Abigael and I were up early and fully prepared to watch our Broncos kick some serious Charger butt. First we did a quick outing to whole foods for the weekly groceries, but Abigael was already decked out in her Broncos jersey. She got quite a few comments from people about how cute she was. Then it was home to cheer our team on.

We've taught Abigael how to throw her arms up in the air whenever we yell "Touchdown"!! She hears it once and immediately has her arms way up high :) I'll have to try and get in on film next week. But here are some pictures of Mommy and Abigael in our Bronco gear.

Saturday Fun!

Well as everyone knows, this past weekend was when Hurricane Ike was supposed to hit San Antonio, but of course it didn't!! We are definitely not complaining, but it would have been nice to see some cooler weather. Shane is super busy right now with his school work, he's in his last few classes and I know for sure he can't wait to be finished! He spent the whole weekend trying to get ahead but made sure to take some much needed breaks with Abigael and me.

We all took a nice walk to a nearby neighborhood park. It was finally below 90 degrees so it was actually a pretty nice day. I was hoping that there were going to be swings at the park because I know how much Abigael likes them, but this must have been the only park without them :) Still Abigael was able to spend the time having fun. She is much smaller than the playground is meant for, but it didn't stand in her way! She climbed up many of the structures all by herself. Shane and I couldn't believe how strong she was. It was a lot of fun and we'll absolutely be going back.

After our fun at the park, it was time for a needed Abigael nap. While she was napping I was doing things around the house listening to music on my iPod so I wouldn't bother Shane. Abigael loves my iPod and tries to get a hold of it whenever she can. Once she woke up and saw that I had it out, she was all over me to get it! Shane got the headphones to stay on her head and she was happy to show us a little dance. Abigael loves music and shows us her dance whenever it is playing :)

Shane and Jamie

One of my friends had this on her blog, in regards to her and her husband, and I thought it would be fun so here it goes...

What is his name? Shane and Daddy

Who said, “I love you” first? It was Shane! Such a romantic :)

Who is taller? Definitely Shane. He is 6'1 and Jamie is 5'4! I'm always looking up to him.

Who drives most when you are together? Shane, he's not as crazy as Jamie.

Who’s more sensitive? I think it's a tie for us.

Who does the laundry? Definitely Jamie!! And Shane is so kind to remind her when it's time to do laundry by quietly saying he is getting low on clean undies ;) hehe...

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Shane does. But Jamie hogs the bed most nights so it doesn't really matter!

Who pays the bills? Jamie

Who cooks more? Jamie for sure. If it were up to Shane it would be peanut butter sandwiches for dinner ever night!

Who is more stubborn? Probably Jamie, but Shane can hold his own in this department too!

Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Shane (because Jamie is too stubborn)

Who has more siblings? Shane. One brother and one sister. Jamie only has a brother.

Who wears the pants? We share pants :)

What do you like to do together? We love to talk with each other. We love to go out to dinner whenever we can squeeze in a date night, spend time with friends, and watch movies. We would love to do more outdoor things, but the extreme heat here in "lovely" San Antonio is a bit restricting. But when we can we like to take Abigael to the pool and cool off.

Who eats more sweets? Absolutely Jamie!

How did you meet? We met at work! It was a bit of a delicate situation, but we liked being around each other too much to stay away :)

Who asked whom out first? I think it was Jamie. She invited Shane over to her apartment for dinner one night. She always talked about the good meals she could make and Shane wanted to try it out :)

Who proposed? Shane :) We spent the day together and ended up at the Botanical Gardens in Austin. We walked around and found a secluded area where Shane got down on his knee and asked me to marry him! I really did have no idea it was going to happen that day, it was so special for both of us! We are coming up on our first anniversary soon, with many more to come :)

If you are a blogger, try this and pass it along!!

Whoa...long time no blog!!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the huge gap in blogging about the family. We have had so many things going on lately and I am, sorry to say, very lazy when it comes to blogging :-/.

Well in the past couple of months we've had Abigael turn the big One and had an addition to our extended family! Abigael had her first birthday on August 16th and we had a little party in her honor. She loved all of the attention being on her! She also loved the cake :) Abigael was being quite the little lady and eating her cake a little bit at a time, but then daddy decided she wasn't being messy enough and covered her face in frosting! All together it was a great weekend and Abigael is already in love with her new toys. My mom was able to come down and spend the weekend with us which was very special. She hadn't seen Abigael since the wedding in May and babies grow so much in such a short amount of time.

Next up came the new addition to our family! My sister in law, Michal, was gracious enough to last all of the way until September 2nd to have her beautiful little girl. We were hoping she would make it past Abigael's birthday and boy did she!! I travelled up to Dallas last week to help out Josh and Michal with baby prep and babysitting. I got to take care of my nephew Ethan while they were in the hospital with pretty Eliana. I also got to be one of the first people to hold my new little niece! My mom is so jealous I'm sure ;) Eliana is so beautiful and an exact image of Michal. Everything went so smoothly and they are happy and healthy. After the week though, I was sure missing my family and was happy to be going home to see them.

So here we are back home and back into our daily routines. I love having our family to come home to. Check out Michal's blog for more info and pictures of the new baby:)

A Fun Day at the Pool

Yesterday Abigael and I joined a friend of mine and her daughter at their neighborhood pool for a swim! It was only Abigael's second time in the pool so I wasn't sure how she was going to take it. The first time we put her in the water, it was too cold and she didn't like it at all. This time though was much better and she had a blast!!
Abigael was so cute splashing in the water. I put her in a little floatie and she was able to smack the water. The water kept slashing onto her face and she looked so confused as to why it was happening :) She also kept kicking her legs in the water trying to swim away! I think we may have a future olympic swimmer on our hands!
The other little girl swimming with us, Kaitlyn, was also in a floatie but hers had enough room to fit both girls, so we sat them together and they were adorable! They looked like future friends with arms around each other. So Cute!!

We'll definitely be going back for more fun during the rest of the summer!!

Trip to the Park!

Today, Abigael and I took a trip to the park to see Grandma Daisy, Aunt Robin, Great Grandma Omi, and Cousin Dylan. She had a great time looking around and watching all of the other kids climb the jungle gyms. We all had lunch there and spent some time walking around. We all had lots of fun. We'll have to go back more in the future.

First steps!!

Well today was a great day! Abigael has been practicing walking with everyone who will give her a hand to hold onto, but today she decided enough was enough and she could do it on her own! She kept fooling me into thinking she was going to sit down and she almost did but this time she stood back up and let go of the chair...here is the clip:

We also had a great July 4th weekend up in Round Rock. Abigael got to hang with her grandparents all weekend and she loved every minute of it. They have a lot more room to crawl around and a pool to swim in. I'm surprised she let us take her home :)
Shane and I went up to Waco on Saturday to she my brother Josh and his family. Michal was having a diaper shower for her little girl on the way, Eliana. She looked beautiful and got more diapers than they could fit in the car (almost!). It was so much fun, I won the "guess what's in the diaper game" and Michal was glad that her belly didn't measure as big as some of the ladies guessed it was ;)

Here are some pictures of Abigael's first July 4th and some of her with her new kicks on!

Abigael's present to Mommy is walking up the stairs!

Yep, that's right...Abigael can officially walk (well crawl) up the stairs of the house!! She first did it today at the sitter's house, and then Shane wanted to see, so we put her on the stairs and I was siting at the top and up she came :) It was cute to see, though a bit nerve racking :o/

Abigael has really gotten older it seems. Next thing we know she'll be walking with us bi-peds. And she has also started to throw temper tantrums! Lucky Mommy and Daddy! They are full body tantrums too...she arches back and her head goes side to side. A true DIVA in the making...

I am down to my last week at work now. It's very exciting thinking about staying with Abigael and playing with her all day...then reality hits and I understand that it's not all fun and games ;) But just being with her throughout the day will be special to me. I think she will miss all the boys that she sees every day right now. There is always something going on at the sitter's house! But now we'll be able to have more play dates and I'll get to spend more time with other mothers and friends of mine.

The wedding is just around the corner now too! The day is sneaking up on me very fast now. I feel like there are a million things left and I'm always behind on something. But I do have my dress all ready to be shipped up to colorful CO! We haven't been getting too many responses in the mail, so if you are reading this and either haven't sent in your response card or know of someone who hasn't, SEND THEM IN!!! :) hehe...I'm no bridezilla or anything...nooooo....;)
